The tournament has started...

Welcome

“Les Pieds-à-Gilles”, the Swiss footbag community and planetfootbag would be proud to welcome you in Lausanne for the 8th Annual IFPA European Footbag Championships. We want these championships to be unforgettable for every single player, as for us and our city. Consequently we are managing different aspects of the event which will make it unique and highly appreciated:

-First, Lausanne is a wonderful city, full of culture, sport, parties and the event site will be at the lake (see Location). So whenever you want you will be able to jump in and refresh from the hot atmosphere which will rule the event. Concerning this point, there will be also a surprise, so look forward to it and come!

-Secondly, we offer a very cheap event for the players (see registration, 30€), with the usual Swiss quality of course. The price includes 4 nights in a bunker, 3 breakfasts, 4 dinners and the whole competition of course. Switzerland seems not too expensive like that, does it?

-Thirdly, we want the championships to present a sustainable aspect, as well as an ethical one.

For the former, an advanced waste treatment management takes place, with different kinds of trashes and containers. Furthermore, several points have been analysed already (for instance the fact that accommodation is close to the event site), which will contribute to the sustainable aspect.

For the latter, we organise the project “Kick Racism” (supported by the Swiss Confederation and more precisely by the Service for Combating Racism). It consists actually of a “kick-count-contest” open to the audience and to the syndic of Lausanne, Mr Daniel Brélaz, who will give one of his alive speech at the project opening. Let’s hope to see him (and everybody else) kick against Racism!

Thanks to these different aspects, the European Championships in Lausanne will be certainly an original event, full of quality and ethics. But without the European footbag players, it would be inconsistent. Not only because it would not exist but also because “Les Pieds-à-Gilles” take their energy from this fraternal community that are the footbag players. Thank you.
