Location

Lausanne, the Olympic capital, is the fifth biggest city in Switzerland and certainly one of the most beautiful. The sportive life, as well as the scientific and cultural ones, is very rich. For instance Lausanne welcomes more than one European or world’s championships per year, all sports included.

Located directly at the lakeshore, in the Vidy region, the framework of 2006 European footbag championships in Lausanne is idyllic. In particular, the magnificent site of “Les Pyramides de Vidy” will welcome the entire freestyle competition, the net competition finals, as well as the project “Kick Racism”. Net qualifications will take place on the stadium “Pierre-de-Coubertin”, located 200m from there. As for Golf, it will certainly lead the players to visit the roman ruins, up to their abilities for the details !

“Les Pyramides de Vidy” were built in 1964, for the Swiss national exposition. They represent a cultural place of Lausanne’s life, notably by the “esplanade des cantons”, which is a symbol of the Swiss cantons’ fraternity. It is the ideal location, first to allow a sport such as footbag to become better known, but also to illustrate the realisation of the project “Kick Racism”, precisely with their perpetual fraternal aspect.
